Due to the current housing shortage crisis and an increasing elder population, our California legislature has enacted several new laws to make it more feasible for property owners to add an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) to their residential property. These laws now allow the conversion of an existing portion of the home, garage or other structure into an ADU via a new streamlined process.
